YOUNG players from a local sports club made a sweet gesture to NHS patients this Easter.

The Forres Girls Football Club (FGFC) under-14s presented 50 Easter eggs to volunteer coach and NHS Grampian play leader Jamie Alexander to be handed out at Moray’s flagship hospital Dr Gray’s in Elgin.

Jamie helps children and young people in the hospital to relax, play and be involved in positive activities.

He said: “The eggs were given to patients and families who attended hospital over the Easter period. Everyone who received one was delighted!

“It was a wonderful gesture from the girls and the club. Thank you from all of us at Dr Gray’s!”

FGFC vice chairwoman Ann Ewing confirmed the girls agreed that, rather than buying eggs for each player, they would donate them instead.

He said: “We agreed to support old folk’s homes, the hospital and Moray Food Plus this year. We are trying to make sure we give a little back to the community that supports us.”

FGFC are playing Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC this Saturday (April 22) at Mosset Park with a 10.30am kick off. Entry is free.
