THE BUSINESSWOMAN behind a local social enterprise has won a national award.

Jane Duncan Rogers, founder of Before I Go Solutions has won the Woman of Inspiration title at the Association of Scottish Businesswomen National Awards 2023, held at the George Hotel, Edinburgh.

Jane founded the company after the death of her husband in 2011. It was at that point she discovered just how important planning ahead for a good end of life is.

She said: “I am delighted to receive this award, and thank all our team, directors, and customers, all of whom are brave enough to work in a pioneering field, have challenging conversations and make a huge contribution to society.”

Jane confirmed, while awareness of mortality has increased since the pandemic and 90 per cent of people now state that end of life planning is essential, only 14 per cent have done anything about it.

She said: “Before I Go Solutions exists to help people take action on anything to do with preparing ahead of time for the one thing we know for certain will happen.”

Jane wrote Before I Go: The Essential Guide to Creating a Good End of Life Plan and gave TedX talk How to Do A Good Death.
