The pub on Tolbooth Street announced recently that it will “cease trading with immediate effect”.

A statement on social media highlighted the position.

It read: “It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we are having to announce that Kristoff’s bar and restaurant will cease trading with immediate effect.

“It has been a great pleasure to operate for the past five years, but the time for change came.

“We are so grateful to all of you for being part of Kristoff’s.

“What a journey it was!”

Kristoff’s said that the venue tried to open an outdoor area during lockdown.

However, they pointed out that they were priced out of this proposed venture by the council.

A spokesperson for Kristoff’s said that all the customers who may still have vouchers, which had been purchased in either 2019 and 2020, should get in touch with the venue for a refund.
