A TEAM working hard to improve Forres is looking for new directors and trustees.

Local charity Forres Area Community Trust (FACT) has long term plans to make the area a better place to live, work and visit, and welcomes anyone with vision, independent judgement and willingness who can provide the required time and commitment.

FACT chairman Jim Farquharson stated FACT is a “forward thinking organisation which will always have the community central to everything it does”.

He said: “FACT gives people a chance to make a real difference to Forres Town Hall and the services we provide for the local community, along with our many partners and funders.”

FACT meets on a monthly basis with additional subgroups for members who would like to get more involved with specific areas of work. Based at the town hall, FACT encourages residents and organisations to be involved in rural regeneration, promotes civic responsibility, supports volunteering and the voluntary sector, as well as running charitable projects to develop and support the community. FACT advances independence, employability and lifelong learning by giving local people skills and support, advice and guidance for learning and work, as well as training opportunities.

The available positions are unpaid but provide experience and satisfaction.

Mr Farquharson said: “If you have experience and knowledge in governance, personnel, quality assurance, strategic planning and/or income generation, we would love to hear from you. We are particularly keen to achieve a more diverse board of directors and trustees and welcome applications from all sections of the community.”
