Monday, January 9 will see the retained station provide the venue for a Menopause Café for an informal chat about the menopause, its effects and other relevant issues.

Crew Commander Dave Crawford said: "We're delighted to have two speakers from the Firefighters' Charity, AJ Whittaker and Sally Walker, who will be giving a talk offering help and advice via a video link.

"Come along and join them and have a cuppa and a chat.

"If this event is of interest please PM the Fochabers fire station Facebook page.

"This event is open to all within the community who feel they would benefit from this café.

"We're the first fire station in Moray to host a Menopause Café and if it's successful it could become a regular feature and see other stations holding their own cafés."

The evening will start off with a discussion of what people know about the menopause followed by an examination of the barriers, bias and judgements surrounding it. The focus will then shift to the symptoms – both physical and psychological – and how to manage them at home and at work, as well as communication during tough times and self-help.

The meeting will round off with a Q&A session.
