Flood warnings in place for Moray

FLOOD warnings have been put in place for parts of Moray as heavy rain across the region takes its toll.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has put warnings in place across several areas in the region with 27 flood warnings in place nationwide.

SEPA is urging people to remain vigilant by protecting themselves and their properties.

The full list of areas subject to flood warnings in Moray is as follows:

  • Aberlour, Craigellachie and Danndaleith - Agricultural land is at risk of flooding along the Spey Valley. Low lying properties and roads are also at risk of flooding.
  • Dallas to Doual Bridge - The road between Doual Bridge and Dallas is expected to flood during Monday afternoon and evening.
  • Spey Viaduct to Spey Bay - Low lying properties and roads in Kingston and Garmouth are at risk, including the B9015 Kingston Road. Flooding problems may be worse in these areas around high tide. The next high tide is at 7.52pm at Buckie.
  • Boat O'Brig to Spey Viaduct - Agricultural land is at risk of flooding along the Spey Valley from Rothes to the Spey Viaduct. Flood water through the viaduct and in Black Burn may place low lying properties in Garmouth at risk of flooding.
