THE Findhorn Foundation has suspended guest programmes, Universal Hall events and closed the Community Centre until May due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Foundation said the measures have been taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19, but sanctuaries remain open as "work continues".

A statement said: "In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Trustees and Stewards of the Findhorn Foundation have made the decision to suspend upcoming guest programmes until May.

"In order to reduce the spread of the virus within our community, we have also decided to suspend all events in the Universal Hall and other Foundation venues. The Community Centre will be closed during this period. The Foundation’s work continues and our sanctuaries remain open to help bring light into the world.

They added: "We are aware closing facilities like the community centre will have an impact on us all, but feel it is necessary both for our own protection and for us as responsible citizens of Moray and beyond. Slowing the spread of Covid-19 will literally save lives.

"The Foundation is working with the New Findhorn Association and other community organisations to find the best ways to keep us connected and support each other. We will continue to coordinate and ensure everyone in our community has the information, help and support they need.

"We trust that everyone is doing what they need for their own safety and well-being, and are proud to be part of this community which demonstrates our shared humanity and interconnectedness."

The Foundation hopes people with bookings will be able to reschedule as they aim is to get most programmes in later this year, with some already having new dates – at least provisionally. Full refunds will be offered for anyone wishing to cancel.

The group's website will be kept up-to-date with more information.
