The ecovillage at Findhorn will feature on children's TV every day this week.

A new five-part CBeebies series, Maddie, The Home and You, was filmed over a fortnight in September.

The first episode was broadcast earlier today at 4.25pm but will be available on BBC iPlayer.

The other episodes will be on at the same time each day until Friday.

Aimed at children aged three to seven, the series covers topics such as growing and cooking food, energy, transport and shopping.

Findhorn Foundation spokesperson Janet Limb states the producers chose the ecovillage as the location as it has ways to showcase all these topics.

This includes eco-friendly housing, water recycling, extensive food gardens and alternative energy creation in the form of wind turbines and a biomass boiler.

Janet said: "The Findhorn ecovillage is often referred to as the grandfather of the ecovillage movement, so it was fitting for the series to be filmed here.

"Education is a big part of the Findhorn Foundation’s agenda.

"This series is a fantastic way for the next generation to learn about sustainability."
