A CHILDREN'S charity based in Findhorn has organised a Halloween event in Forres for this weekend.

Ecologia Youth Trust is holding the Pumpkin Trail at Grant Park from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, providing a fun day out for families while raising funds.

Ecologia was established in Findhorn in 1995 and, to date, has helped transformed the lives of over 54,000 children, young people and families affected by poverty, poor family support and low social/emotional skills.

Associate director for Ecologia’s International Projects, Robyn Cooper, confirmed the trail is suitable for all ages.

She said: "It is a fantastic way to bring back the Halloween spirit after all the lockdown’s we’ve experienced.

"Ecologia works hard to help transform the lives of children and young people so they can realise their unique potential and improve their lives for the long term.

"The spook-tacular event will help us to introduce ourselves as a charity to the community, provide a fun event for families to enjoy, and raise money to support disadvantaged children in our projects in Kenya, Uganda and Russia."

The trail goes around Grant Park and Cluny Hill, encouraging participants to hunt down the pumpkins hidden away amongst the trees. There will even be a spooky photo spot along the way.

There are two routes available - those with an adventurous heart are dared to find all 15.

Pick up a map from Ecologia's stall at the park. Each pumpkin has a name to fill in on it - collect them all and return the map for a prize.

Entry is £2 per person but under-4s go free.

Rovyn added: "It’s a great way to get some fresh air so grab your fangtastic costumes – we can’t wait to see you there!"
