AROUND 70 merry-makers were entertained on a festive trail near a local village.

Findhorn-based Theatre of the 7 Directions’ Christmas Artist Hunt at The Park on Saturday, December 16 featured music, stories, dancing and theatre - as well as a Santa’s grotto.

Director Laura Pasetti confirmed the performers were stationed all over the site.

She said: “The event went very well. There were storytellers, singers, an improvisational theatre group, a bowl sound musician, a Ukulele group and a dancer accompanied by a musician. Elves distributed magic flakes to make dreams come true. We made a lot of children happy - big and small!”

The artists were Julia Lay, Energy Brown, Janet Limb, Gay Taaffe, Roy Simpson, Rory O’Connor, Sharon Took-Zoozaya, Annie Crawford, Sabine Ella Mehlberg, Sylvia Robertson, Ken Walker, Susie Minto and John Rose.

Ms Pasetti said: “The event was free for children and adults paid £3 - the proceeds covered expenses. The hunt brought joy to the attendees!”

T7D’s next event will be on Sunday January 28 when 12 participants of an Ecotheatre course will present a play that they are devising with Ms Pasetti’s help.

A children’s course finishing on December 21 will be followed by another in February for children aged 10 and over, as well as another adult class. The two groups will eventually work together to create an outdoor performance.

“We would like to work more with young people and older people (65+) in the area,” said Ms Pasetti. “There is no need for previous experience in acting but people with experience will develop their skills.”
