FAMILIES are invited to a large scale wellbeing event – to be held on the Altyre Estate.

Sound therapist, Emma Macrae,is organising ‘Zen Festival’ in and around the Clubroom Altyre from 11am-4pm on Saturday, July 15, featuring classes run by local teachers, music, food and fun activities for children.

Emma said: “Zen Fest will be a family friendly space where everyone is welcome. There is no pressure to take part in every class on the timetable, attendees will be welcome to dip their toes into classes to see if they enjoy them.

“The event is a chance to connect with other like-minded folk, move your body and chat about wellness.”

The programme features yoga, pilates, Cacao ceremonies, sound healing, breathwork, journaling and meditation.

Inside the Clubroom, there will be a range of stalls featuring items for sale and information from local businesses. These include crystals, angel card readings, natural skin care, head massage and jewellery.

Outdoors, there will be an area for outdoor yoga and fitness classes, bell tents and yurts for smaller group sessions, and a children’s fun area.

There will also be food, coffee, vegan bakes and kombucha on tap.

Music will be played all day including live singing during a lunch break.

There will also be a facepainter.

Attending children will be welcome to enjoy kid’s yoga, nature crafts and sculpture, interactive storytelling, meditation and mountain bike skills run by professional instructors.

Emma said: “Altyre is the perfect spot for Zen Festival with its beautiful outdoor space and peaceful surroundings.

“It gives people a chance to connect with others that have similar interests, and also take part in classes being run by different teachers from the area.

“The three pillars of my own business are healing, wellness and community. I hope to embody this within the festival.

"It’s also away to support local businesses and spread the word about all the amazing offerings we have in Moray!”
