EMERGENCY services are in attendance at a three-vehicle crash on the A96 between Alves and Forres.

Traffic is tailed back towards Alves after an incident that occurred shortly before 4pm.

It is believed that the crash took place near the turn off towards The Loft.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 3.50pm on Wednesday, August 2, we were called to a report of a crash involving three vehicles on the A96 between Alves and Forres.

"Emergency services are in attendance."

The incident comes just days after a 34-year-old motorcyclist from Elgin lost his life in an accident nearby on the same stretch of road.
