Working closely with tsiMoray, the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) is hosting a Volunteer Marketplace for local charitable organisations to promote and recruit volunteers to support the running of their business.

DWP Employer and Partnership Manager Jane Munro said: "We are fully aware that volunteering can make a real difference to people’s lives and help them take the steps towards employment in some instances.

"One of DWP’s priorities is to support customers that have a health condition/disability and volunteering is great for supporting these customers, too."

The charitable organisations who have agreed to attend so far are: Circles Network; Clan Cancer Support; Elgin Town Hall; Keith and Dufftown Railway; British Legion Veterans Community Support; Moray CAB; Moray Council Volunteer Service; Moray School Bank; North East Sensory Services; Portgordon Community Trust; RNLI; Social Enterprise Academy; Steps Moray; tsiMoray.

The Volunteer Marketplace is due to take place on Friday, February 3, running from 10.30am to 12 noon.

It is being hosted by the Moray Pathways Hub at the Inkwell, Francis Place, Elgin, IV30 1LQ.
