YOUR community needs you!

Forres Area Community Trust (FACT) are supporting a move to help local groups, organisations and event organisers to find volunteers throughout the year.

FACT lead development officer Vicky Flood said: "Forres has nearly 200 groups, clubs, societies and organisations who get together on a weekly basis to support community activities and events. The groups are wide ranging, from a new pushchair walking group encouraging parents to get out for a walk in the park to the pensioners who meet every week in Forres Town Hall.

"Forres Rotary Club's bonfire and firework display and Forres Highland Games are just two of the annual events held in the town. There is something for everyone, and if there isn’t, you are guaranteed someone in the town will find a way.

"FACT is the conduit between the organisations and those that may want to help."

Earlier this year, FACT asked local organisations to send out an email inviting those who would like to volunteer to be added to a list. It is envisaged that there will be a regular mail out to those who seek to volunteer across the town detailing the opportunities that are available.

To register email your name and email address to forresvolunteers@forresarea.org.

Organisations looking for volunteers should email forresvolunteers@forresarea.org to be sent more information and a registration form.

For further information call 01309 674388, email info@forresarea.org or call into the FACT office at the town hall between 10am and 1pm through the week.

Alternatively, email joannat@pipingatforres.com or admin@coloursofcluny.com
