Forres police report for December lists 10 crimes including a drink driver leaving the scene of a crash

ABUSIVE behaviour, theft and fleeing the scene of an accident were crimes committed in Forres over the last month.

Forres police have issued the Moray West community council report for December, which lists 10 incidents that have been, or are being, investigated.

A 16-year-old male was arrested and reported to the Procurator Fiscal for threatening and abusive behavior, assault and police assault. This followed an altercation in his home where he made threats to kill witnesses and police.

A male was also arrested and held in police custody after assaulting his sister at her home address. He followed with threats to her and her partner, and was traced a short distance away.

There were a total of six reports of shoplifting and/or attempted theft from commercial properties in Forres. So far, three committed by the same male have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

A female youth is also being reported for stealing two boxes of vapes from a shop in the town. She will be reported to the youth justice team once enquiries are finished, she is traced and charged.

Finally, A man was reported for driving under the influence following a collision with the wall of a home. He made off from the scene after the crash. He was later traced and charged with failing to stop, failing to report a road traffic accident, having no valid MOT and driving over the alcohol limit.
