At noon, staff members gathered in the rose garden to fall silent and reflect on the events of the past year.

The minute was part of the National Day of Reflection to mark a year since the country entered lockdown for the first time on March 23, 2020.

Samantha Thomas, Chief Nurse for Moray, said: "Being able to take a few moments to reflect on the events of the last 12 months was important to all of us at Dr Gray's Hospital.

"We are so grateful for the support the public has shown – and continues to show – to all of us working in health and social care right across Moray throughout the pandemic.

"Our thoughts are with all those grieving loved ones whether as a result of Covid-19 or not."
