THE site manager of a vandalised Kinloss newbuild has called the perpetrator "disturbed".
Yesterday, (Monday, October 3) a home built by Buckie firm MPD on Findhorn Road, Kinloss, was found to have been doused with paint, with footprints left heading towards Findhorn.
A note was also left at the scene which said: "This land belongs to the people of Kinloss."
An MPD site manager, who asked not to be named, said the firm has gathered information on the vandalism and is offering a reward for information.
He said: "This was definitely planned and premeditated.
"This person came in through the gate with four different paint tins and spraycans in a pillowcase.
"They came in, emptied the pillowcase, did what they did and left the pillowcase behind, while taking the empty cans.
"They even sprayed aerosol paint into the roughcast, which is the way to do the most damage.
"They also left a trail of footprints going towards Findhorn.
"We are offering a £2000 reward for a name leading to a conviction."
After finding the damage, MPD passed the matter onto Police Scotland.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.40am on Monday, 3 October, we received a report of vandalism at a building site on Findhorn Road, Kinloss.
"Enquiries are ongoing.”
The site manager said it was hard to understand the causes behind the vandalism.
He said: "There is really no rhyme or reason for this.
"We have been working on the site for the last two years and nothing like this has happened.
"You feel sorry for the people who are so disturbed that they would do this.
"We need to get on and fix it and carry on with our work.
"The Police will need to catch whoever did this because we can't have this sort of thing happening again."
