Locals have been invited to attend the 'Death Cafe' which is being held in The Scotch Oven Tearoom at Asher's Bakery in Forres on June 24 at 12.45pm.

During the session, participants will discuss any and all aspects of death and dying over tea and coffee in a safe and comfortable atmosphere.

The idea was introduced in 2010 as a way to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their lives.

Peter Hollings will host the event which is the third of its kind to be held in Moray since 2015.

"Death is in your face so there is no point in shirking the inevitable," he said.

"Talking about it not only helps yourself but it also helps those near and dear to you.

"This is an opportunity not only to discuss death and dying in a safe environment but an opportunity to pick up ideas about making your own end of life plans.

"It's also a spur to reviewing how you are living now and to make the most of it."

There will be no charge for attending the sponsored session and booking is not required.
