THE town hall dance floor will be packed for a night of live music in aid of Forres Mechanics this weekend.
Moray group Sold on Soul will perform hits from the likes of Sam and Dave, Edwin Star, James Brown, Marvin Gaye and many, many more, to raise funds for the football club’s floodlights appeal from 7pm this Saturday evening (March 25).
Saxophonist, Colin Henderson, said: “It will be good to play for a big crowd again. We’ve a new sound crew who will make sure our 12-piece band sounds its best in the main hall.”
Sold on Soul’s set list includes classics such as Signed, Sealed, Delivered, Knock On Wood, Gimme Some Lovin, Proud Mary, and Lean On Me.
“We bring something new into our set every year,” added Colin. “Soul music is timeless. It’s amazing to see so many young folk still being turned onto it.”
The band’s current line-up features singers Kenny MacDonald, Sarah-Jane Scott and Nikki Henderson (Colin’s daughter), bassist Charlie Gerard, guitarist Roger Niven, drummer Mark Sharkey, percussionist Colin Black, trumpeters George Brown and Glenn Munro, and saxophonists James Steele and Craig Henderson (Colin's son).
