Covid-19 cases at RAF Lossiemouth

A NUMBER of Covid-19 cases have been confirmed on the RAF Lossiemouth base.

A spokesperson for the base put the number of confirmed cases in single figures.

An RAF Lossiemouth spokesperson said today: "There have been a very small number of Covid cases identified at RAF Lossiemouth.

"We continue to work closely with Public Health Scotland and have robust measures in place to protect our people and the wider community as we perform our essential duties, defending the nation."

The confirmation of cases at the air base comes a day after Elgin's Dr Gray's Hospital said a small number of staff had contracted the virus, prompting the temporary closure of Ward 5.

And it comes two days after the Tesco Extra store in Elgin confirmed that a small number of staff had tested positive for Covid-19.
