The pothole-laden Dunes Road, which allows access to the East Beach car park, is currently being repaired by Aaron's Groundworx.

Posting on Facebook, the Findhorn Village Conservation Company said: "We are disappointed to report that there was a mindless incident of vandalism during the night of Sunday, June 27.

"As you will be aware, Dunes Road is currently closed to traffic for repair works. On Monday morning our contractor, Aaron's Groundworx, arrived to find the heras fencing on the ground and significantly damaged.

"They then found their diggers and trucks with all their windows smashed in.

"A big thank you to Aaron’s Groundworx team who managed the situation, spoke to the police, cleared up the glass and then got back to work on finishing the Dunes Road.

"The Dunes Road will be completed very shortly enabling much needed access to the East Beach car park, which will help to reduce the volume of traffic parking in the village whilst providing our visitors with parking within easy access of the village and local businesses."

The damage caused at Dunes Road is likely to have created a disturbance through the night.

If anyone has any information or CCTV footage of the Dunes Road area from the night of the incident, please contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting crime reference number CF0149050621.
