PREPARATIONS are now complete for a protest on Friday in Forres against the continuing inaction to stem the causes of climate change.
Local schoolchildren will be going on 'strike' as part of a worldwide demonstration.
The youngsters as well as adults will also be dressing up as endangered animals to highlight the issue.
One of the organisers, Simon Clark, said: "In 2018 the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warned that if global society doesn't fundamentally change its ways by 2030, and the Earth heats up 1.5 degrees above Pre Industrial temperatures, there will be massive shifts in weather patterns.
"Heat wave and flooding extremes, already with us, will be commonplace.
"Too little is being done too late – our future is as stake."
The posters for the protest quote Greta Thunberg who had become a focal point for the cause.
The Swedish teenager says: "You say you love your children above all else, and yet you are stealing their future in front of their eyes.
"Unite behind the science. No one is too small to make a difference."
