A CHURCH-based community project held weekly drop-in sessions throughout the summer holidays.

Organisers Forres Youth and Families Outreach used 'Messy Church' on Thursday afternoons to continue building links with local children, young people and families at St Leonard's Church Hall.

Spokeswoman Dawn Alderson Darlington said: "Like the regular monthly events, volunteers from local churches join together to share the gospel with the community in a family friendly informal way."

Typically, Messy Church includes: a welcome; time to explore biblical themes through crafts; story, prayer, song and games; and a sit-down meal.

"There are crafts and activities, stories and songs, refreshments and fellowship," added Dawn. "Everyone is welcome, but children need to be accompanied by an adult."

The next monthly session will be on Saturday, September 21 from 2-4pm at St. Leonard's Church Hall.
