NATIONAL charity Children 1st is looking for volunteers in Moray to support pregnant women and new mothers with their emotional health and wellbeing.

The Perinatal Wellbeing Peer Buddies are there to offer mums support if they have worries about their emotional health and wellbeing during pregnancy, as well as after their baby is born.

As part of the role, volunteers will help parents access community activities and services, as well as encouraging play and interaction between parents and babies and offer practical support.

Mandy Morrison, Children 1st's Moray service manager, said: “We are really excited to be starting this new work to support the wellbeing of babies, mums and mums-to-be in Moray.

"As well as supporting families’ mental health, volunteers will help promote bonding and attachment between parents and babies to ensure children have the best start in life.

"As part of the service, we are looking for caring, compassionate and enthusiastic volunteers who will be there to support parents and their children at every step of the way.

"If this sounds like you, then please get in touch and help make a difference in your community.”
