THE location of pre-school immunisations in Moray will be changing from Monday, August 3.

Health and Social Care Moray (HSCM) says childhood immunisations continue to be a very high priority.

Scotland’s immunisation programme has continued throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Parents are being urged to take up their child’s immunisation appointment to protect them against serious preventable diseases.

Pre-school immunisations cover all immunisations for children aged up to five years. This includes babies’ eight-week, 12-week and 16-week immunisations, as well as those given between 12-13 months and four years.

HSCM advises that if your child has an appointment arranged over the coming weeks, it will now take place in one of the following locations depending on the GP practice you are registered with. This information will be provided in appointment letters.

Ardach and Seafield – at the outpatients department, Seafield Hospital, Buckie

Cullen – at the practice

Keith – at the outpatients department, Turner Memorial Hospital, Keith

Aberlour, Rothes and Dufftown – at Fleming Hospital, Aberlour

Tomintoul – at the practice

Glenlivet – at the practice

Moray Coast – at the practice

Culbin and Varis – at Forres Health Centre

Linkwood, Elgin Community, Maryhill Practice – at The Oaks, Morriston Road, Elgin

Fochabers – at Milne’s High School

Some of these locations will be for a temporary period only.

People are asked to ensure that they and any member of their household do not have any symptoms of coronavirus before attending immunisation appointments.

An HSCM spokesperson added: "We would encourage only one parent/guardian to attend for the immunisation appointment with their child. A face covering is required before entering a community hospital building or GP practice/health centre.

"Speak to your health visitor if you have any questions about your appointment."

Any queries regarding childhood immunisations at this time should be directed by email to nhsg.immunisationteam@nhs.net.
