CCTV appeal for same-night Moray robbery and attempted robbery

A NEW image has been released by police to help solve a robbery and attempted robbery which happened on the same day.

The incidents took place in Moray last December.

A premises on Brander Street in Burghead had a "two-figure" sum stolen from it at around 6.55pm on December 22, police said at the time.

Then, police claimed, the same suspect attempted to rob a premises on Fleurs Place in Forres at around 8pm.

Neither incident led to any injuries.

Authorities have now released an image, showing "a man they wish to speak to" in connection with the incidents.

Detective Constably Lynne Cowie, from Elgin CID, described the events as "extremely distressing for the victims".

She also encouraged anybody with information or CCTV footage to call Police Scotland's non-emergency 101 number.

"These incidents were extremely distressing for the victims and I urge anyone who recognises the male in the image or has any information regarding these crimes to contact officers," she said.

"Members of the public can contact Police Scotland via the 101 non-emergency telephone number quoting reference number CR/0453791/23 or, if wishing to remain anonymous they can call the registered charity, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
