AROUND 150 people enjoyed a family fun day at Mosset Park which raised £2000 for Forres Mechanics.
The event on Sunday afternoon featured a car boot sale, stadium tour with club chairman Dave MacDonald, tea and cakes in the lounge, refreshments from local businesses Fraser Brothers Butchers and Forres Tesco, as well as a variety of games on the pitch including Ajax sixes, trampoline penalties, kick the (tin) Cans and match the players.
A club spokesperson said: "The Mechanics and Youth Development open day for players, parents and supporters was a great success.
"Spectators enjoyed catering in our refurbished hospitality suite in the main stand while over 50 of the Cans’ budding stars showed off their skills on the park.
"Special thanks are due to head coach Allan Frisken and his team for the on-field activities, Ann Ewing for marshalling the catering and committee member Sandy Aird for organising the event which raised over £2000 for club development."
Sandy thought the response from the youth teams in particular was "excellent".
He said: "Around 40 youth players and 100 spectators attended. The funds raised will be split between the Youth Development teams and Forres Mechanics."
Player of the Year awards were presented to winners from each of the youth teams at the end of the afternoon.
The club's next fundraising venture is a race night at 7.30pm on Saturday, November 13 at Forres Golf Club.
Paddock entry of £10 includes a buffet supper.
