HISTORIC Wheels Club's vintage car rally is set to return to Brodie Castle this weekend for the first time in three years.

Vehicles from as early as 1913 right through to the 70s, 80s and 90s will be showcased at Brodie Castle on Sunday.

Organisers of the family favourite have been forced to hold scaled back versions of the event over the past two years as a result of the pandemic.

However, the event will return in full this weekend on Sunday, July 24 and will be open to the public from 12pm until 3pm.

Darren Mcwhirter of Historic Wheels Club said: "We've had two quiet ones at different venues but this is the first one back at Brodie which will be open to the public.

"We have a young committee who have pieced it all together so hopefully we see a good turnout because I think people are keen to get back out and do things again after multiple lockdowns and the pandemic.

"We've got quite a range of vehicles that I think will appeal to the general public even if numbers are slightly down this year but I think that's down to the cost of fuel."

The rally will return to Brodie Castle for the first time since 2019.

The rally usually showcases around 300 vintage vehicles but this year that number is down to 225.

Despite the slight drop, vehicles from as early as 1913 right through to the 70s, 80s and 90s will still be on show for the event's return this weekend.

Judging will take place later in the afternoon before awards are handed out at around 3pm.

"The vehicles are all set out in different classes," Mr Mcwhirter added.

"There are 15 different classes of cars and motorbikes of various ages. We have judging and present awards at the end of the day.

"The judging side of things is only for a few really so I think most people will be there for the picnic and the social side of the day."

Tickets for the day range in price from £5 for adults, £3 for kids or a family ticket for £12.
