AN up-and-coming brass duo are returning to Moray for special concert in Kinloss.

Former Moray Concert Brass members, euphonium and tuba playing duo Danielle Price and Martin Lee Thomson are performing at Kinloss Church Hall at 7.30pm on Friday, October 20.

Their ‘Ballads and Airs’ concert delivered by Findhorn Bay Arts in partnership with Chamber Music Scotland will feature a mix of Scottish traditional, re-imagined and new tunes, including traditional music from the north east, inspired by historic text, photography, archived sounds and song.

Dopey Monkey were musicians in residence for Findhorn Bay Arts’ Unexpected Gardens project in Forres last year. The pair draw upon their experiences in jazz, folk, classical and experimental music to create new projects and musical works.

The duo have been invited guest artists at Sergio Carolino’s Gravissimo Festival in 2018 as well as the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference in Iowa in 2019, virtual ITEC in 2021 and YABAI FEST hosted by Japan’s FU-CHING-GUIDO in 2021.

Tickets cost £10 per person (£8 concessions and £5 for U26s). Complimentary places will be available for carers to those requiring assistance.
