The Met Office has issued a 24-hour yellow storm warning for Moray beginning on Wednesday evening.

The forecast for Wednesday.

Storm Dudley is forecast to bring strong winds to most of Scotland

The yellow warning will be in place in Moray from 6pm on Wednesday until 6pm on Thursday.

Strong westerly winds are expected to hit the west coast of Scotland in the evening and then extend eastwards, eventually affecting all of Scotland and parts of northern England.

Paul Gundersen, chief meteorologist, said: "An active jet stream is driving low-pressure systems across the country, both of which are likely to cause some disruption."

Potential inland gusts could be as strong as 70mph.

Winds are expected to be even stronger at around 90mph across higher ground in the Cairngorms and the north-east coastline.

The Met Office has also warned of potential travel disruption.

A second storm is also being predicted on Friday.

However, it is presently thought that Storm Eunice will have more impact in England than Scotland.
