Body of missing Antony Rodgers found near Forres

THE body of missing Elgin man Antony Rodgers has been found near Forres, with tributes pouring in for the ex-army serviceman.

At around 12.30pm on Saturday, January 4, police received a report of the death of a man near the town.

Formal identification has not yet been carried out – however, officers believe it to be 57-year-old Antony Rodgers, missing from Elgin since Tuesday, December 31.

Mr Rodgers' family was informed – with his brother leading tributes to him Antony, who is well known in the Forres area, on Facebook.

He wrote: "On behalf of the family I would like to thank the Police, Coastguard, Mountain Rescue and everyone who helped in locating our brother and to all who have left such kind words on this page.

"Such a tragic end. Thank you all."
