A LOCAL junior beauty queen has been shortlisted for a national event.

Little Miss Sparkle Junior Miss Scotland 2019, Violet-Rose Haggan (7), of Tulloch Park, Forres will challenge for The Face of Scotland beauty pageant in 2021 as the event has been postponed this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Applegrove Primary School pupil was entered into the contest organised by FOEW International Pageant by her proud mum, Samantha McNeil.

Samantha said: "I entered Violet-Rose via email with a picture and a few details about her. The organisers confirmed she has been picked as one of their finalists."

Samantha told FOEW that Violet-Rose enjoys cheerleading, horse riding and making new friends. She also loves fishing, playing in the woods and with her pet chihuahua 'Coco'.

Samantha added: "I am a very proud mum and love seeing her accomplish things at such a young age. This will be her third pageant picked as a finalist after Little Miss Scotland and Miss Saltire where she won awards, tiaras and sashes.

"The Face of Scotland is something to look forward to now!"
