A FESTIVE fundraiser is being held on a nearby beach this weekend in aid of a Moray homeless charity.

Chelle Parker of local business The Vibe Movement is inviting everyone to take part in a yoga session near the car park at the beach off the Dunes Road on Saturday, December 23 to raise money for Moray Fresh Start (MFS).

She explained: "This is the second year I’ve offered a Wild Vibe Beach Yoga Flow as well as a Beach Bliss prize bag with goodies gifted from local businesses.

"We are helping Elgin-based Moray Fresh Start, which supports people who have been homeless and are moving into new tenancies. It sets them up with basic items for their home. It also supports other vulnerable people in times of need, such as those coming out of hospital or recovering from other emergency situations.

"Last year we managed to raise over £1000 and this year my target is £750 with current donations around £560."

MFS chairman James Workman confirmed the charity issued 174 starter packs this year.

He said: "We really appreciate Chelle and friends' efforts. Their support gives us a warm feeling - unlike what it will be like on Findhorn Beach on the December 23!

"We’ve helped 297 people set up in their new homes, including 98 children. Costs are increasing but thanks to people who donate gently used items and our wonderful volunteers we are continue to meet demand."

Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterised by stringing postures together, moving from one to another seamlessly, using breath. It is commonly referred to as 'flow yoga'.

Chelle is inviting minimum suggested donations of £10 to join in.
