Ashers wins best morning roll in Scotland award

Ashers Bakery won the best morning roll in Scotland award at the Scottish Baker of the Year award ceremony in Glasgow.

After the votes of over 8,000 bakery customers across Scotland were counted, 50 of the industry’s top professionals judged blind and the winners were announced on Saturday, June 8, at an awards dinner at the Crowne Plaza.

The bakery was also awarded best morning roll for their white roll and also won awards in the Highlands, Islands and Grampian region for their Glasgow roll, millionaire shortbread and sausage roll.

Ashers won regional silver for the millionaire shortbread and bronze for the Glasgow roll and sausage roll.

Alister Asher said: "We are delighted, absolutely delighted.

Ashers have stores in the Moray towns of Forres, Elgin, Lossiemouth and Buckie.
