HOPING for lift-off to his forever home is Pet of the Week Apollo.

This fellow is a bearded dragon who is currently being cared for at the Scottish SPCA Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre at Drumoak. Although referred to as a male, Apollo’s sex has not been determined.

Apollo can be a bit shy at first but SSPCA believe that with the right owners he will come out of his shell and grow his confidence. He loves bugs and vegetables, and becomes very animated if his favourite food is nearby!

While Apollo doesn’t mind being handled but will make a scramble if he feels insecure. This is something that can be worked on over time with socialisation time out of his vivarium.

A large vivarium would be needed to accommodate Apollo. He will need lots of natural décor, a basking area for him to soak up the heat, and also some hidey spots where he can go for some alone time.

His new owner would ideally be experienced in owning exotic pets or have done some research in to how to care for them.

If you would like to give Apollo his new home, please apply via the Scottish SPCA website: https://www.scottishspca.org/rehome-a-pet/3072-apollo
