AN important local building has been re-opened to the public as coronavirus measures loosen.

Following the Scottish Government’s Covid-19 advice, Forres Area Community Trust (FACT) has announced that Forres Town Hall is open again for bookings and activities.

The lesser hall regularly hosts teas and coffee mornings.

FACT development manager, Debbie Herron, is delighted.

She said: “I’m proud of the way our team adapted to the restrictions and how quickly we found ways to deliver our services remotely and in a covid-secure way. This has included telephone befriending, provision of a shopping and prescription service, online crafts and exercise classes to name but a few of our ongoing activities. However, we know how important it is for our community to be able to access the facilities at the town hall in person. Having completed a full covid risk assessment and put mitigation measures in place, following current Scottish Government guidance, we look forward to welcoming more folk back to the town hall.”

The main hall is ideal for functions, entertainment and large meetings.
