Roadworks are scheduled for six nights on the A96 westbound at Culloden Junction starting from Tuesday.

A 10mph convoy system will be in place between 7.30pm and 6.30am while the road surface is replaced.

No work will take place on Saturday or Sunday nights, and the work is due to finish on Wednesday, June 24.

Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative, said: "The safety of our employees and our supply chain remains a top priority at this difficult time.

"All personnel will be subject to strict physical distancing protocols in line with Scottish Government guidance to ensure they are kept safe.

"Thorough risk assessments have been developed and cleansing stations will be implemented on site to ensure all staff remain safe."

"These surfacing improvements have been prioritised and identified as an essential project to ensure that the A96 remains safe and reliable for key workers, deliveries and those making essential journeys.

"As always we’ll do all we can to ensure that this project is completed as quickly and as safely as possible."
