A96 closed in both directions near Raigmore interchange after two-vehicle crash

The A96 is currently closed in both directions east of Inverness after a road traffic incident reported earlier this afternoon.

Traffic Scotland announced that the road was restricted westbound between the Raigmore interchange and Allanfearn.

However the road was later closed in both directions due to recovery work.

Road users are advised to use caution on approach and use an alternative route at this time.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: Around 1.05pm on Friday, September 1 we received a report of a two-vehicle crash on the A96 near Nairn.

"Recovery is being arranged.”
