Ben Goldscheider Horn Trio to visit Nairn's Community and Arts Centre

CLASSICAL music fans will have a night to remember when a worldwide famous trio visit Nairn.

The Ben Goldscheider Horn Trio will perform classics including Mozart and Schumann on Saturday, January 27.

The act will begin at 7.30pm at Music Nairn which is located at the Nairn Community and Arts Centre.

The trio of Ben Goldscheider, Huw Watkins and Benjamin Baker are critically-acclaimed from across the globe.

Goldscheider will be performing on the horn, Watkins on the piano and Baker on the violin.

The trio have an extensive catalogue of accolades from their careers so far. Goldscheider became the finalist of the 2016 BBC Young Musician award, Watkins is consistently heard playing on BBC Radio 3 and Baker has recorded applauded pieces from the USA, UK and New Zealand.

The full set-list will include Mozart’s Horn Quintet in E flat major arranged for trio, Brahms Trio in E flat major as well as Clara Schumann’s romances for violin and piano which will be interspersed with two solo piano works by Mendelssohn and Brahms.

The musicians will also perform a work written (and performed) by Watkins.

Tickets for the show are available from the Nairn Community and Arts Centre. Tickets are priced at £18 for the general public.

Under 25s are only £3 and Nairn Music members will pay £15. Tickets will also be available on the night.
