WHILE many people will be enjoying Christmas with their friends and family this year, emergency services won't stop.

And Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) is no different – with Helimed 79's crew to be flying the skies across Moray and the north-east this festive period.

The team behind the air ambulance, based at Aberdeen Airport, have released a Christmas message to thank supporters for their generosity throughout 2021.

Rich Forte, a paramedic with SCAA, said: "This year has seen our crews at Perth and Aberdeen attended more patients than ever before – often flying life-saving support to those most in need.

"The speed and agility of our two helicopters means we can reach those most seriously injured or ill in the fastest possible time and airlift them to care.

"It's an honour to be part of SCAA's frontline operation and support the people of Scotland when you need us most.

"But we can't save lives without your help and the unstinting support of the public this year has ensured SCAA kept flying during some of the most challenging times to face the charity.

"As we prepare for Christmas on call, we want to send a huge thanks to people who has kept SCAA in their hearts this year."

Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is entirely funded by donations.
