Death of 23-year-old in Nairn crash sparks police appeal

POLICE have appealed for information from the public after a 23-year-old man died in a road accident near Nairn.

A three-vehicle crash at Bognafuaran, by Nairn was reported to police at around 7.35am this morning.

It happened on the B9101 near the junction of the A939.

Emergency services attended and a 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The road was closed as officers carried out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

The road has since reopened.

Sergeant Christopher Donaldson said: “An investigation is under way to find out the cause of the collision and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch with us. In particular, if anyone has any dash-cam footage which could assist our investigation, please pass it on.”
