12 cases of coronavirus confirmed in the last week in Moray

TWELVE cases of coronavirus have been confirmed within the last week in Moray, taking the area's total since the outbreak began to 1781.
This a big reduction on the 36 cases confirmed in last week's update – which was already significantly down on the 95 cases confirmed the week prior.
With no new deaths recorded, the number of people to have died due to Covid-19 in Moray remains 40.
Of those 40, 30 have tested positive for Covid-19 and passed away within 28 days, while 10 had the virus mentioned on their death certificate.
While the number of positive cases is down so is the rate of testing. A total 467 negative Covid-19 tests have been confirmed since May 18 – down on the 1010 negative tests confirmed in last week's update.
NHS Grampian – which includes Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City – has now confirmed 15,422 cases of coronavirus since the outbreak began.
That's an increase of 72 on the 15,350 reported last week.
Moray neighbourhood update
Only two 'neighbourhood areas' in Moray confirmed at least three cases of Covid-19 between May 17 and May 23.
These are Forres South West and Mannachie and Burghead, Roseisle and Laich. Both confirmed three cases.
It was confirmed today that two cases of Covid-19 have been associated with Forres Academy.
Elgin, Buckie, Keith and Lossiemouth all had fewer than three cases between May 17 and May 23.

Overnight, 564 cases of Covid-19 and no deaths were recorded throughout Scotland.
During the week ending May 26, 33,505 people were newly-tested for Covid-19 with 2711 testing positive for the first time. This is compared to the 2013 who tested positive last week from 28,105 tests.
Since the outbreak began, 2,016,895 people in Scotland have been tested at least once, with 233,207 positive and 1,783,688 negative.
During the week ending May 23, four deaths were registered where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
Scotland's death toll is 10,114. A total of 7666 people have died after testing positive for Covid-19.
A total of six people are in intensive care in relation to Covid-19, with 98 patients in hospital.
In total, 15,727 patients who have tested positive for Covid-19 have been released from hospital since March 5, 2020.
