Work costing £1.8million has been completed in to address long-standing flooding problems around Alves.
The year-long project has involved laying nearly two miles of sewer pipes between the A96 and the maltings on the parallel B9089 road.
The upgrade was delivered on Scottish Water’s behalf by contractor Amey-Binnies.
Project manager Sam Neill said: "We’re pleased to have completed this important work which will help prevent sewer flooding in this area, better protecting the local environment and ensuring the infrastructure can continue to serve the community for years to come."
Gavin Steel, Scottish Water's corporate affairs manager, added: "We appreciate that the need for some traffic management measures over the course of this project will have caused some inconvenience for local residents and drivers.
"We would like to thank them for their patience and understanding while we have completed this essential upgrade."
