made another long trip down the A9 to compete in the Scottish Young Athletes Road Race Championships in Greenock.

The flat course was not to their liking but both produced first class performances.

Ben finished 5th in the under-13’s Boys’ race in a time of 8:34.

In the Ladies U-17’s race Anna, who led for part of the race, was overtaken in the latter stages. She had to settle for a silver medal in a time of 17:17, just four seconds behind the winner.

Ben and Anna close the Cross Country season as national champions and it is hoped their performances will inspire future talent from Forres.

In three weeks time Anna will lead the Scottish Ladies in the Mini Marathons held on the morning of the London Marathon.
