Six Forres girls competed against the best in the country in the capital and five secured top ten places, while Mya Morrison, Louisa Walters and Matilda Gee joined forces to win bronze in the 12/13 intermediate team event.

Going one better in the advanced section, Iris Whitton won silver on the floor, bronze on the vault and silver overall, with training partner Lucy Stephenson just missing out on bronze as she claimed the fourth place ribbon.

The Highland Floor and Vault Championships in Inverness saw Forres enjoy more success.

Beth Watson won gold in the vault and overall in the 6/7 beginners, and teamed up with Ava Main, Ariah MacDonald, Charlotte-Anderson-Brown and Willow Dougal for team bronze.

Rhea Henderson took silver on the floor and bronze in the vault and overall at 10/11 intermediates.

The same 12/13 intermediate trio who claimed a national bronze medal won the silver in Inverness.

And Iris Whitton was third in the 14+ advanced section and claimed floor bronze.

Another bronze medal was achieved at a winter festival in Banchory, as seven-year-olds Ava Main, Beth Watson, Kamryn Bain, Charlotte Brown and six-year-old Ariah MacDonald joined forces.

“It is heartening to do well when you are a very small club, up against huge organisations with dedicated training facilities.”

After a festive break, the club is back in training this month for a busy schedule of 2025 competitions.
