WINGER Paul Brindle has left Forres Mechanics after one season, returning to former club Clachnacuddin.
Brindle (29) signed a one-year deal when he joined the Can-Cans from Brora Rangers last summer, but has not renewed for the new campaign.
Instead he has chosen to re-join Clach, where he previously played between 2011 and 2015, winning the Highland League Cup in 2014.
The 29-year-old winger was Forres' top scorer for the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 12 goals in the Highland League and one in the Highland League Cup.
He scored five times in three games in October and November, including doubles away at Inverurie Locos and Huntly.
He also bagged a brace on the road against Keith – with his second a world class effort from 35 yards.
His League Cup goal came against Clach in the quarter-finals, while he also scored against his new employers in both other meetings with them – a 2-2 draw at home and a 3-3 draw away.
Another of Mechanics' wingers Allan Macphee has also left the club. Macphee was playing with amateur side Loch Ness in summer, before playing on trial with Inverurie Loco Works at the weekend.
Macphee was dropped from the squad under Charlie Rowley's management but returned at the end of last season to hit good goal scoring form – ending the campaign with seven.
