Moray Figure Skating Club and Academy make it more than 100 national medal successes this year after impressive haul in Aberdeen
Moray skaters have secured over a ton of medals on national ice this year after an impressive finish to the season.
The Moray Figure Skating Club and Academy competed in their final tourney of 2024 in Aberdeen, and came home with a clutch of honours.
“The latest wins at the Aberdeen National Open brings the current Moray team's national medal tally to well over 100,” said coach Graeme Summers-Campbell, who along with his sister Sue Summers-Farrell heads the club’s sessions at Moray Leisure Centre ice rink.
A total of three gold, three silver and three bronze medals were achieved by the club in Aberdeen.
Cameron Wilkie struck gold competing for the first time at national 2 level, completing a routine with two impressive axels.
It was gold and silver for Moray in the beginner C competition against 17 other competitors with Adelie Forsyth winning gold with a personal best score, and team-mate Dakota Okana Wilson gaining silver.
in a field of 23 skaters, Savannah Pinch continued her fine start to competitive figure skating by winning gold with a PB score in the beginner B event. Savannah only began competing at national level this year, but in all three of her competitions she has won gold.
Team-mate Lois Rushton also put in a great performance, narrowly missing out on bronze in her first national event.
Savannah's sister Everly won silver in the beginner A competition with a PB score in a field of 14.
In a strong field of 14 skaters from all over Scotland, silver and bronze went to Chloe Sutherland and Ellie Lasota respectively in the national 3 event.
Bronzes were also won by Isla McManus with a PB in the national 1A event and by Hannah Kirkman in national 1B.
Strong performances were also given by Layla Hill, Emily Wright, Millie Anderson and Jaya Beaton.
Moray Figure Skating Club holds it's Superskate session every Friday at MLC, open to all skaters who have passed Skate UK level 4 and above.
