Elgin City denied by late strike in William Hill League 2 - see Forfar Athletic match highlights

Elgin City couldn’t quite hold out for victory at Forfar Athletic in League 2 on Saturday.

In their final match before this weekend’s big Scottish Cup clash against Aberdeen, City were held to a 1-1 draw on the 4G surface at Station Park, see match highlights above on Forfar Athletic TV.

Two superb goals and two disallowed strikes were the main talking points in the game.

Offside flags ruled out a Forfar goal after the break and a very tight call denied Dajon Golding in an Elgin attack with the scoreline still goalless.

Russell Dingwall’s first time blast put the visitors ahead on 76 minutes, his seventh goal of the season.

But when Elgin failed to clear their lines at a home attack, Cammy Logan was given space to work an opening and curl home a great effort on 83 minutes to tie the scores.

City were up against two former managers in Jim Weir and Gavin Price, who recently took over the job at bottom-of-the-league Forfar.
