Show jumping event brings best out of Nairn sisters at Mundole equestrian centre

MUNDOLE Equestrian hosts one more show jumping qualifier before the finals day at the end of October.

Nairn sisters, Rachel and April Forbes confirmed their places in the finals by taking top spot in the last three classes of Sunday's event.

Rachel, with Spirit, was first in both the 0.80 and 0.90 competitions with sibling April runner-up at 0.90 but taking first place at 1 metre class.

Poles: 1 Henrietta Tennant, Lhanbryde (Sylvie); 2 Arabella Tennant, Lhanbryde (Kilgreene Fudge); 3 Alex Redford, Inverness (St Mungo).

Cross Poles: 1 Maisy Shand, Craigellachie (Herbie); 2 Tamzin Sutherland, Forres (Barney); 3 Sophie Whitby, Inverness (Rockyview Nico).

0.45: 1 Lexie Innes, Buckie (Balhagarty Northern Lights); 2 Lindsay Fergson, Tomatin (Fern); 3 Ellie Magee, Lossiemouth (Cherry Blossom).

0.60: 1 Eilidh Beattie, Inverness (Troy); 2 Eva Cumming, Elgin (Ruby); 3 Lisa Philip, Alves (Brian).

0.70: 1 Sophie Smith, Nairn (Guicci); 2 Gordon Mackenzie, Cromarty (Heidi); 3 Susan Mackenzie, Cromarty (Louis).

0.80: 1 Rachel Forbes, Nairn (Spirit); 2 Susan Mackenzie (Louis); 3 Gordon Mackenzie (Heidi).

0.90: 1 Rachel Forbes (Spirit); 2 April Forbes, Nairn (Ollie).

1.00: 1 April Forbes (Ollie).
