Ryan’s performance, watched by family and friends, were enough to secure an overall ranking of third in the Scottish Championships.

Over 60 riders competed last Saturday, with another 50 taking part the following day.

Ryan may be only 15 but he is now competing in the adult class for the first year.

Because of his age he had to be assessed at the beginning of the season to ensure his capabilities was high enough for him to compete.

This was never in doubt, and a first place in the opening event at Lossiemouth Forest proved his abilities at senior level.

The Forres youngster moves up to Clubman B level next year, and has a personal target to match the efforts of his idol, top Scottish rider Andrew Bisset, who has always been on hand to offer him advice.
